Tree Identification Walk for Beginners

Curious about our local native trees and how to identify them? Windsor Tree Warden Michael Metivier will show you how to identify over 15 tree species primarily by their bark, which unlike leaves can be viewed year-round, including white ash, as part of Vermont’s Emerald Ash Borer Awareness Week. This will be a relaxed walk and conversation. Face masks required and space is limited, though if there is demand the walk will be offered again and in other locations. The walk is not rigorous but be prepared to climb over and duck under trees, and walk up and down short inclines. Tick repellent, a reusable water bottle, and good hiking boots aren’t a bad idea either. We can walk in a gentle rain but will take a rain check for thunder and lightning.
